Exclusive Opening | Forensic MEP Location: Florida, with regional travel Terms: Full time One of Metric Geo’s key partners is looking for a licensed Mechanical Engineer who wants to apply their technical discipline to forensic investigations and complex failure analysis. This role is ideal for someone with a strong background in building systems, products or machinery, and an interest in uncovering how and why failures occur. You will investigate incidents involving mechanical equipment and systems, analyse evidence and provide clear engineering conclusions for insurers, attorneys and property stakeholders. This is a strong route into expert witness work for engineers who want to broaden their career and take on greater responsibility. Responsibilities: • Carry out site inspections on equipment, building systems and incident locations • Determine cause and origin of failures across HVAC, plumbing, fire suppression, machinery and consumer products • Perform engineering calculations, review design documents and assess code compliance • Support fire and explosion investigations where mechanical systems are involved • Develop clear written findings and support senior experts in client presentations • Work directly with clients while contributing to business growth through high quality technical delivery Qualifications: • Bachelor’s degree in Mechanical Engineering or related discipline • Florida Professional Engineer licence, or ability to secure by comity shortly after joining • Two to ten years’ experience in mechanical systems, product design, machinery, HVAC or related fields • Prior forensic or field investigation experience is beneficial • Strong communication skills and confidence dealing with clients This role gives you the chance to step into a technically challenging and highly visible consulting position, working alongside experienced experts and developing skills that lead towards expert testimony.
