Freelance Illustrator – Children’s Book Project
This a Full Remote job, the offer is available from: United States This role is for a talented illustrator to bring a children’s picture book, Practice Makes Progress, to life. The story celebrates perseverance, diversity, and creative growth, featuring children from various backgrounds engaging in music, martial arts, painting, performing, and science. The visual tone is warm, painterly, and cinematic, with softly glowing lighting and gentle ribbons of light connecting each spread. The ideal candidate will create expressive, kind faces and natural body language, ensuring a consistent visual style throughout the book. The project includes 10 spreads (16x8” each) and a finished cover illustration for an 8x8” square hardcover format. This is an opportunity to contribute to a series that promotes brain and emotional health in children, with the potential for future collaboration. Responsibilities • Illustrate 10 full-color spreads and a cover for an 8x8” children’s book • Develop diverse, expressive characters with natural body language and kind facial expressions • Maintain a painterly, textured, and cinematic style with warm, uplifting lighting • Ensure visual continuity in color palette, lighting, and style across all illustrations • Integrate text into illustrations, considering layout and readability • Prepare print-ready files suitable for professional book production • Collaborate on feedback and revisions to achieve the desired artistic vision Skills And Requirements • Proven experience illustrating children’s books or similar projects • Proficiency in Procreate or Photoshop for digital illustration • Strong character design skills, especially for young children • Ability to create expressive, emotionally resonant artwork • Experience preparing print-ready files and integrating text into layouts • Attention to detail and commitment to visual consistency • Excellent communication and openness to feedback • Availability to deliver high-quality work within agreed timelines About Twine Twine is a leading freelance marketplace connecting top freelancers, consultants, and contractors with companies needing creative and tech expertise.
