Job Summary The Women's Volleyball Graduate Assistantship is designed to provide a comprehensive learning experience for individuals interested in pursuing a career in coaching or college athletics. As a Graduate Assistant, you will assist in the day-to-day operations of our Women's Volleyball team, working closely with the coaching staff and team members to ensure the success of our student-athletes. Key Responsibilities Develop relationships with coaching staff and team members to assist with team operations Assist the head coach in planning and running team training sessions Prepare scouting reports to support team strategy Aid in recruiting and retention efforts to attract and retain top talent Coordinate travel planning and scheduling to ensure seamless team logistics Mentor, tutor, or provide other assistance to athletes as needed Conduct yourself in a professional and ethical manner at all times Develop and demonstrate a working knowledge of NCAA compliance rules Complete all University-required trainings, including FERPA and Title IX Contribute to the overall success of the Newman Athletics Department by performing other duties as assigned Qualifications and Requirements To be considered for this role, you must meet the following requirements: Completion of a Bachelor's Degree from an accredited institution Legally authorized to work in the United States Accepted and enrolled full-time (at least six credit hours per semester) in a Master's degree program during the academic year Previous experience in a college athletic setting Genuine interest in and willingness to work with students; understanding of student attitudes, concerns, and problems Strong organizational and computer skills Ability to exercise basic human relations skills in directing and motivating staff, and dealing with varied constituencies on and off campus Preferred qualifications include AED and/or CPR training.
