Role Description Our vision for our new Compliance Counsel, North America is a fully integrated business partner who embodies our organization’s aptitude for innovation and believes that together we can do more to advance public health. • Serve as the lead Compliance Counsel and primary contracting attorney for the U.S and Canadian Compliance Program. • Support Medical, Commercial and Sales initiatives. • Work cross-functionally with commercial, medical, and market access teams to ensure compliance with internal policies and procedures, applicable laws and regulations, and relevant industry codes. • Provide exposure to vaccine commercialization and broader compliance initiatives globally. • Support a range of legal and compliance matters, including reviewing marketing and sales materials in compliance with regulatory guidance and state law principles. • Responsible for policy and procedure development, training and education, and auditing and monitoring activities in coordination with the Global Legal & Compliance team. • Opportunity for this role to be based remotely within the United States for someone with availability for East Coast hours and occasional travel. Key Responsibilities • Assist and lead the development, implementation and execution of the North American Compliance Program. • Develop strong business knowledge and collaborate with colleagues to deliver fair, well-constructed contracts. • Provide ongoing advice and support related to a wide variety of contracts. • Lead, anticipate, and drive solutions for a range of legal and business issues. • Provide advice regarding commercial/business disputes related to contracts. • Review, implement, communicate, enforce, and monitor contract process compliance. • Work closely with Head of Legal & Compliance, North America and outside counsel on relevant matters. • Maintain efficiency and timely response to internal stakeholders. • Provide advice and counsel on issues related to vaccines commercialization in North America. • Conduct legal research as needed. Qualifications • Bachelor's degree and Juris Doctor from accredited universities. • Member in good standing with a state bar in the United States with eligibility for in-house practice. • 2-4 years of experience developing and implementing a comprehensive compliance program for health care or pharmaceutical companies. • Familiarity with drafting and negotiating all types of commercial agreements. • Ability to maintain strict confidentiality of sensitive information. • Commitment to cultural values of being persistent pioneers, embracing change, inclusivity and teamwork. • Growth mindset and willingness to learn new skills and areas of the law. • High level of integrity supported by sound judgement and ethics. • Availability for occasional travel, including internationally (<10% travel). • Strong computer skills including Microsoft Office applications. • A quiet, dedicated area for focused remote work with limited interruptions. Preferred Skills • 2-4 years of direct experience with health care and pharmaceutical law. • Ability to analyze and interpret complex legislation and regulations. • Team player capable of leading and participating within cross-functional project teams. • Excellent verbal and written communication and presentation styles. • Strong work ethic with the initiative to work independently. • Detail oriented with a high level of accuracy in their work.
