Industrial Project Engineer (Onsite)
About the position Pratt & Whitney is seeking a proactive, goal oriented, and detail focused Industrial Project Engineer to ensure delivery of critical hardware in support of the Mature Commercial Engines (MCE) Component Integrated Product Team (CIPT) in Compression Systems Engineering (CSE). In this role, you will be responsible for the creating and actively managing an Industrial Plan for critical hardware components required to meet customer contract requirements for multiple engine programs covering Fan, Low Pressure Compressor (LPC), and High Pressure Compressor (HPC) modules. Particular focus will be required for military applications of commercial engine programs where government contract requirements must be met. The candidate must be able to manage multiple tasks simultaneously, motivate others to share the goals and visions of the Industrial Plan, provide technical guidance, empower the supporting team, and be able to effectively communicate to all levels of P&W and the supply base. Responsibilities • Create and manage an Industrial plan to proactively track the manufacturing and delivery of critical hardware pacing future engine builds • Conduct regular Industrial reviews to communicate status to CIPT, IPTs and the Program Office for multiple programs • Perform regular visits to suppliers to walk the process, update delivery commits and Lines of Balance (LOBs), understand manufacturing issues first-hand, and proactively work to develop solutions to de-risk hardware delivery • Perform risk assessments and develop risk mitigation plans as well as actively participate in initiatives for continuous improvement • Provide ad hoc Project Engineering support to meet the requirements of changing priorities • Work with the IPT, Sr. IPTL, and CIPT Leadership to plan, acquire, and manage appropriate budgets for specific tasks • Travel up to 40% Requirements • Bachelors of Science in Mechanical, Aerospace, or Industrial Engineering, or in a related field and 8+ years prior relevant engineering experience OR Advanced Degree in Mechanical, Aerospace, or Industrial Engineering or in a related field and 5+ years prior relevant engineering experience • U.S. Person or eligible to obtain necessary export authorizations required Nice-to-haves • Advanced degree in Mechanical, Aerospace, or Industrial Engineering, Project Management, or Business Administration • Demonstrated strong team and strategic leadership skills • Excellent communication skills, including verbal, technical writing, and engineering presentations to all levels of management • Aerospace/ jet engine industry experience and previous gas turbine compressor experience is highly desirable • Working proficiency with MS Office, Teamcenter, SAP, Smartsheet, MS Project or other scheduling software • Thorough understanding of continuous improvement principles (e.g. Customer Oriented Results and Excellence (CORE), Quality Control Process Charts (QCPC) • Proficiency in use of program/project management tools (e.g. Systems Applications and Products (SAP), Earned Value Management System (EVMS), Teamcenter) • Demonstration of skills consistent with the Pratt & Whitney Leadership Operating Model (LOM) Benefits • Medical, dental, vision, life insurance • Short-term disability, long-term disability • 401(k) match • Flexible spending accounts • Flexible work schedules • Employee assistance program • Employee Scholar Program • Parental leave • Paid time off and holidays Apply tot his job
