The Role: Job Skills Trainer - Yale As a Job Skills Trainer - Yale, you'll play a vital role in our organization, working closely with individuals with disabilities to teach effective job skills and techniques. Your goal will be to help them maintain their employment, build confidence, and develop a sense of purpose. You'll work side-by-side with individuals, supervising and supporting them as they learn and practice new skills in various settings, including job sites, community programs, and volunteer work. Key Responsibilities: Work side-by-side with individuals with disabilities, teaching effective job skills and techniques to help them maintain their employment. Supervise and support individuals while they learn and practice skills in various settings, including job sites, community programs, and volunteer work. Assess individual skills on a daily and weekly basis, exploring their interests, capabilities, preferences, and ongoing support needs. Provide reinforcement of counseling and therapy activities, correcting unacceptable behavior, and helping individuals meet program requirements. Assist with medication administration and perform tasks delegated by an RN (if applicable). Maintain accurate and up-to-date individual records and documentation. Report significant incidents and document them as required. Requirements and Qualifications: To succeed as a Job Skills Trainer - Yale, you'll need: A high school diploma or equivalent. At least six months of experience or training working with individuals with intellectual and developmental disabilities. A valid Texas driver's license, clear MVR, and ability to be insured. Excellent communication and interpersonal skills. Ability to work in a fast-paced environment, adapting to changing needs and priorities. Compassion, empathy, and a genuine passion for helping others. Preferred Qualifications: While not required, the following qualifications are highly desirable: Experience working with individuals with disabilities in a job training or coaching capacity. Knowledge of disability services, job training programs, and community resources. Certifications in areas such as CPR, first aid, or medication administration.
