Manual QA Tester – ETL Process & Data Transformation (Healthcare) Experience Level: 6 to 8 Years Domain: Healthcare Note: Strong, hands-on experience with the Microsoft database technology stack is mandatory. Role Overview We are seeking an experienced Manual QA Tester with a strong background in ETL testing, data transformation, and healthcare systems. The ideal candidate will have deep expertise in validating data pipelines, reporting layers, and Microsoft-based data platforms while ensuring regulatory compliance and data integrity. Key Responsibilities Test Planning & Requirement Analysis • Analyze business, functional, and technical requirements to design comprehensive manual test plans, test cases, and test scenarios across application and data platforms. • Collaborate with business analysts, data engineers, and stakeholders to understand end-to-end data workflows. ETL & Data Validation • Validate data mapping, transformations, aggregations, and business rules across source systems, staging layers, data warehouses, and reporting layers. • Conduct data integrity checks, reconciliations, and consistency validations using SQL and other data validation techniques. • Test and validate SSIS packages, ETL pipelines, and data extracts to ensure accuracy, completeness, and reliability. Reporting & BI Testing • Validate SSRS reports, BI outputs, and downstream deliverables, ensuring alignment with data warehouse logic and business expectations. • Verify report accuracy, calculations, filters, and drill-downs against source and transformed data. Test Execution • Develop and execute test cases for: • ETL processes • Data transformations • Batch jobs and scheduled workflows • Error handling, logging, and recovery scenarios • Perform System Testing, Integration Testing, Regression Testing, and User Acceptance Testing (UAT) for end-to-end healthcare data workflows. Defect Management & Collaboration • Log, track, and manage defects using tools such as Jira or Azure DevOps. • Work closely with developers and data engineers to troubleshoot issues, validate fixes, and ensure timely resolution. • Communicate test results, risk assessments, and recommendations clearly to cross-functional teams. Compliance & Documentation • Ensure all testing activities comply with healthcare regulatory standards (e.g., HIPAA) and support audit and compliance requirements. • Maintain comprehensive test documentation, including: • Test plans and test cases • Test execution evidence • Defect reports • Sign-off and audit artifacts Required Skills & Qualifications • 6–8 years of experience in Manual QA testing, with strong focus on ETL and data validation. • Hands-on experience with Microsoft database technologies (SQL Server, SSIS, SSRS). • Strong SQL skills for data analysis, reconciliation, and validation. • Experience testing data warehouses, reporting systems, and backend/data services. • Healthcare domain experience with knowledge of regulatory and compliance requirements. • Familiarity with defect tracking tools such as Jira or Azure DevOps. • Strong communication, documentation, and stakeholder management skills.
