Job Summary As a Math Tutor at Mathnasium, you will play a vital role in creating a positive and engaging learning environment for students of all grade levels (1-12). You will work closely with our experienced Center Director and team to deliver our proprietary Mathnasium curriculum and teaching methods, ensuring that each student receives a tailored learning experience that meets their unique needs and goals. Key Responsibilities: Create a welcoming and inclusive learning environment that encourages students to explore and learn math concepts Implement the Mathnasium curriculum and teaching methods, using a variety of instructional techniques to engage students and promote understanding Assess student progress and adjust instruction to meet individual needs and goals Participate in ongoing training and professional development to stay up-to-date on best practices and new technologies Collaborate with the Center Director and team to achieve center goals and objectives Maintain accurate records of student progress and communicate with parents/guardians as needed Requirements and Qualifications Essential Qualifications: Must be at least 16 years old Math proficiency through Algebra 2 required; Pre-Calculus/Calculus preferred Experience tutoring or working with children in grades 1-12 preferred Excellent communication and interpersonal skills Ability to work in a fast-paced environment and adapt to changing priorities Preferred Qualifications: Previous experience in education or a related field Familiarity with the Mathnasium curriculum and teaching methods Strong problem-solving skills and attention to detail What We Offer Competitive Compensation and Benefits: Starting pay of $14.00/hr during training (~4 weeks), with a raise to $15.00/hr after initial training, and potential for further increases with additional training Consistent, flexible schedule: 8-12 hours/week on average Employee discount on services and merchandise Referral program for friends and family Career Growth and Learning Opportunities: Extensive training in the Mathnasium Method and curriculum Ongoing professional development and coaching Opportunities for advancement within the organization, with many Center Directors and full-time staff starting as part-time instructors Work Environment and Culture At Mathnasium, we pride ourselves on creating a supportive and inclusive work environment that values diversity, equity, and inclusion.
