About the Role We are seeking a part-time mechatronics instructor to join our team at arenaflex. As a mechatronics instructor, you will be responsible for teaching classes in basic DC and AC electricity, electrical power distribution and wiring, 3-phase motors control systems, fluid power systems, mechanical drive systems, DC power systems, test and measurement instrumentation systems, programmable logical controller interfacing and programming, and industrial robotic systems. You will also be expected to create and maintain a welcoming and supportive environment for students from diverse multicultural, socioeconomic, and academic backgrounds. Key Responsibilities Instruct classes in mechatronics technology using active learning approaches that engage and facilitate student learning Strive to enhance teaching and learning techniques and pursue professional development to stay current in the field Obtain and maintain Professional-Technical Certification requirements Participate in program, curriculum development, and assessment activities Work collaboratively with colleagues, businesses, advisory committees, and other educational partners to create unique learning opportunities Work well with people of all ages from academically, culturally, and socioeconomically diverse backgrounds Understand and commit to the mission of arenaflex Qualifications and Competencies To be successful in this role, you will need to have a strong background in mechatronics or a related field. The minimum qualifications and competencies for this role include: Associate degree in Manufacturing, Electrical/Mechanical Engineering, or a closely related field, and two years of industry-related experience, or five years of industry-related experience Demonstrated work experience in one of the four key areas: Industrial Three-Phase Electric Motor Control Systems Installation, Troubleshooting, and Repair; Mechanical Power Transmission Systems Installation, Troubleshooting, and Repair; Fluid (Hydraulic and Pneumatics) Power Systems Installation, Troubleshooting, and Repair; or Robotic Control Systems Interfacing, Installation, Troubleshooting, and Repair Essential Skills and Competencies In addition to the minimum qualifications, the following skills and competencies are essential for success in this role: Excellent teaching and communication skills Ability to work well with people from diverse backgrounds Strong knowledge of mechatronics principles and practices Ability to create and maintain a welcoming and supportive learning environment Strong organizational and time management skills Career Growth Opportunities and Learning Benefits At arenaflex, we are committed to providing our employees with opportunities for career growth and development.
