Job Highlights: Location: Remote in Worcester, MA (with a 6-week onsite training period) Position: Pharmacy Technician - Remote Start Date: Immediate openings available Compensation: Competitive salary and comprehensive benefits package Job Summary: As a Pharmacy Technician - Remote in Worcester, MA, you will play a critical role in supporting the Prescription department by providing operational support, processing prescriptions, and communicating with patients and healthcare providers. You will work in a dynamic and fast-paced environment, utilizing your pharmacy management software skills and knowledge to ensure accurate and timely processing of prescriptions. Key Responsibilities: Provide operational support to the Prescription department location, including processing prescriptions, handling phone calls, and communicating with patients and healthcare providers Receive and process requests for prescription refills, renewals, and new prescriptions in an accurate and timely manner Perform assigned prescription functions and duties, including checking patient information, lab results, and medication orders Take incoming calls and make outreach telephone calls to patients who have requested medication refills or renewals Process medication requests following standard procedures and protocols Check patient information, including appointment schedules and lab results, to ensure compliance with treatment plans Select and pend correct medication, dosage, sig, and number of refills, and update pharmacy records accordingly Process prior authorizations for medications not covered by patients' insurance Perform tasks focused on fostering teamwork and dedication to patient safety and satisfaction Requirements and Qualifications: Essential Qualifications: High School Diploma/GED (or higher) Current Pharmacy Technician license in the state of Massachusetts 1 year of experience as a retail Pharmacy Technician Ability to maintain MA Pharmacy Technician licensure Preferred Qualifications: Excellent organizational, communication, and interpersonal skills Previous experience with Pharmacy management software and operational platforms Strong attention to detail and ability to multitask in a fast-paced environment Skills and Competencies: To succeed in this role, you will need: Strong communication and interpersonal skills Ability to work in a team environment and prioritize tasks effectively Knowledge of pharmacy management software and operational platforms Attention to detail and ability to maintain accurate records Strong problem-solving and analytical skills Career Growth Opportunities and Learning Benefits: At UnitedHealth Group, we are committed to the growth and development of our employees.
