As a freelance Platform Architect at Shiloh, you'll be the technical expert, designing and implementing scalable private cloud infrastructure solutions that align with our values. Your Role: • Cloud Visionary: Research and implement scalable, secure, and reliable open-source cloud architecture solutions like OpenStack, Apache CloudStack, and Kubernetes. • Solution Architect: Develop comprehensive solution architecture strategies that incorporate IaaS, PaaS, and SaaS models, ensuring seamless integration with existing systems. • Containerization Expert: Lead the deployment of containerized applications using tools like Docker, Kubernetes, and automation frameworks such as Pulumi. • Infrastructure Guru: Architect and optimize private cloud infrastructure leveraging virtualization technologies including KVM and linux. • API Master: Develop RESTful APIs, microservices, and web services to support enterprise applications, ensuring high availability and performance. Your Key Objectives: • Cloud Strategist: Design and implement cloud architecture solutions that meet customer needs and drive business growth. • Technical Leader: Provide technical leadership on system design, application deployment, and system management across diverse environments. • Compliance Expert: Ensure compliance with security standards by designing cloud environments with appropriate access controls, VPNs, encryption, and monitoring solutions. • Innovation Driver: Stay current with emerging open-source cloud technologies, industry best practices, and regulatory requirements to continually enhance platform capabilities. • Collaboration Master: Work closely with internal teams to resolve technical issues, improve overall platform experience, and drive business growth. What We're Looking For: • 2+ years of experience in cloud architecture, DevOps, or a related field • Freelance as needed hours (to start). Perfect for a professional with other clients. • Can in good conscience adhere to our Statement of Faith: • Must have a strong passion for all things open-source, privacy, and cloud computing • Proven track record of designing and deploying large-scale cloud architectures using platforms like OpenStack, Apache CloudStack, Proxmox. • Strong expertise in virtualization and container orchestration (Kubernetes, Kubevirt, Containerd). • Extensive knowledge of cloud security standards. Experience implementing compliant solutions is highly desirable. • Proficiency in programming languages including Python, JavaScript, Java, or similar. • Familiarity with database systems like MySQL, NoSQL is required. • Experience with configuration management tools (Ansible, Chef) and infrastructure-as-code frameworks (Pulumi) is necessary. • Strong understanding of microservices architecture, RESTful APIs, system design principles, DevOps practices (CI/CD pipelines) and agile methodologies. • Excellent problem-solving skills with the ability to lead cross-functional teams through complex technical challenges.
