Our mission-driven team is passionate about helping children become lifelong learners, and we're seeking a talented Program Manager to join our Baltimore, Maryland team. About the Role As a Program Manager with Reading Partners in Baltimore, you will play a pivotal role in leading, developing, and mobilizing a team of AmeriCorps members and volunteers to deliver high-quality, effective one-on-one instruction to students. You will be responsible for managing all aspects of program quality, delivery, and implementation across up to six schools, working closely with school stakeholders, and driving processes and strategies to maximize literacy development in students. Key Responsibilities Recruit, hire, coach, manage, and train a team of up to 7 Reading Partners AmeriCorps members toward successful program implementation across up to six schools. Achieve a rating of at least 90% satisfaction from tutors, teachers, and principals from school partners. Retain 95% of AmeriCorps members through the term of service. Manage all aspects of program implementation, including serving as a local literacy program expert, conducting student data analysis and action planning, fostering school relationships, and directly managing AmeriCorps members. Achieve and maintain 90% attendance for all students enrolled in the program. Support all regional goals for student outcomes across a portfolio of up to 6 schools. Provide progress monitoring insights that are timely, meaningful, and actionable to ensure end-of-year program outputs and student outcomes. Leadership & Management As a Program Manager, you will be expected to demonstrate exceptional leadership and management skills, including: Coaching, inspiring, and developing emerging professionals toward goals. Providing clear guidance and goals, delegating, and providing growth opportunities while supporting progress along the way. Recruiting, hiring, onboarding, and delivering high-quality training to AmeriCorps members. Providing on-site support to AmeriCorps members and tutors at school sites weekly. Relationship Development & Communication Building strong relationships and communicating effectively are critical components of this role. You will: Cultivate strong internal relationships with peers, direct reports, and managers. Possess a strong aptitude for effective communication, remotely and in person, with direct reports, school stakeholders, and other Reading Partners staff. Demonstrate an ability to work collaboratively as an ambassador of Reading Partners externally, specifically with school leaders and staff. Set up strong systems for communication and messaging, tailor communication to audiences, and contextualize messaging. Educational Expertise As a Program Manager, you will be expected to possess a high level of knowledge and competency in literacy strategies and behavior management, including: Leading implementation of Reading Partners' assessment and curriculum. Serving as a local subject matter expert on Reading Partners' curriculum. Ensuring high fidelity of the Reading Partners model at all school sites. Assessing student performance using observations, analyzing data, and creating subsequent strategies aimed at increasing student achievement. Project Management As a Program Manager, you will be responsible for managing multiple priorities, anticipating challenges, and making sound decisions that consider all stakeholders. You will: Demonstrate an ability to effectively manage time, balance multiple competing priorities at once, and remain adaptable, flexible, and positive while navigating challenges. Anticipate challenges and/or questions, and proactively act to address them. Understand larger strategic priorities and make measurable progress against these larger goals. What We Offer Reading Partners offers a comprehensive compensation and benefits package, including: A competitive salary range of $65,811 - $77,425 per year. Medical, dental, vision, disability, life insurance, flex spending accounts, voluntary pet insurance, and generous paid time off. Commuter benefits, 403(b) option, and Employee Assistance Program (EAP). 10 vacation days with twelve (12) sick days. In addition to paid holidays, we close our offices for one week in early July and between Christmas and New Year's Day. Professional development reimbursement of up to $1,000 per employee.
