Our growth has led us to seek an experienced Senior Customer Engineer to join our Google Cloud practice within the Digital Innovations Team. About the Role As a Senior Customer Engineer (CE) at Woolpert, you will play a pivotal role in introducing and reinforcing a Cloud-first, Cloud-native mindset to our customers. You will serve as both a technical subject matter expert and a creative advocate for customer-centric solutions. Your responsibilities will span from interfacing with existing and prospective clients through solution implementation to creating proof-of-concepts (POCs) using a variety of Google, 3rd party commercial, and open-source tools. Key Responsibilities Customer Engagement: Consult with new and existing customers on business and technical requirements, focusing on Cloud solutions (IaaS, PaaS, SaaS, hybrid Cloud). Pre and Post Sales Expertise: Provide expertise in one or more of our GCP service offerings: Data & Analytics, AI & ML, Cloud Native Development & App Modernization, Migration, Google Workspace. Solution Architecture: Design and scope solution architectures and Cloud spend resource usage estimates for customers. Deliverables include solution diagrams, implementation plans, budgets, and professional services statements of work (SOW). Proof-of-Concepts (POCs): Build or support rapid POCs and proof of value experiments. Solution Development: Write, refactor, and optimize new or existing solutions to create fast, easy-to-use, production applications. Deployment: Deploy software and solutions to cloud infrastructure in a repeatable way. Customer Education: Educate customers through direct product training and by influencing them towards modern CI/CD engineering habits. Troubleshooting and Q&A: Conduct interactive sessions for troubleshooting problems, recommending best practices, and technical Q&A. Qualifications Essential Qualifications Experience: 5-8 years of experience in software engineering or a similar field. Cloud Solutions: Experience building and deploying production-grade Cloud solutions in a virtualized environment such as Google Cloud Platform (GCP), Amazon Web Services (AWS), Microsoft Azure, or similar platforms. Programming Skills: Proficient in at least one of: Java, C#, C, Python, Go, modern JavaScript. Ambiguity Tolerance: Comfortable working on projects with a high degree of ambiguity, able to create an elegant cloud-based solution from scratch. Communication: Able to speak, write, or teach with strong expertise in multiple focus areas, demonstrating thought leadership. Autonomy: Able to operate autonomously with little to no oversight. Preferred Qualifications Google Cloud Certifications: Relevant Google Cloud, AWS, Azure certifications. CI/CD Deployment: Experience with CI/CD deployment to Cloud/containerized environments. IoT and Telemetry: Experience with IoT or telemetry data ingestion and processing pipelines, including analytics or ML. Industry Experience: Experience working in industries such as ride-sharing, ride-hailing, last-mile delivery, logistics. IoT and telemetry experience is particularly helpful. Mobile Web Development: Experience with mobile web development and design using a modern toolchain. Google Maps Platform: Basic knowledge of Google Maps Platform (GMP).
