Job Summary As a Senior Gear Engineer at Spry Fox, you will work closely with our artwork, layout, and engineering groups to identify workflow inefficiencies, pain points, and challenges in our development process. You will collaborate with the team to generate candidate solutions, weigh trade-offs, and implement selected solutions that enhance our development process. Additionally, you will be responsible for assisting, developing, and maintaining our current set of engine-specific and custom gear that we use daily. Key Responsibilities: Proactively identify inefficiencies and areas for improvement in our development technique across various disciplines. Maintain, extend, and support our present development gear, ensuring it continues to meet our evolving needs. Build and guide custom asset pipelines to streamline our development process. Develop Spry Fox's proprietary libraries, tools, and technologies across game engines and structures, driving innovation and efficiency. Collaborate with cross-functional teams to generate candidate solutions, weigh trade-offs, and implement selected solutions. Assist in the adoption of new solutions by the team, ensuring a smooth transition and effective utilization. Requirements To succeed as a Senior Gear Engineer at Spry Fox, you should possess: A strong passion for empowering others to do their best work, with a focus on collaboration and team growth. Enjoyment with the overall device lifecycle , including coming across issues, comparing potential solutions, implementing tools, and evaluating their effectiveness. Experience working with custom standalone gear and developing tools that can be utilized by multiple game development disciplines. Proficiency in C#, C++, Python , with a strong understanding of programming principles and software development. Ability to work effectively in a self-directed environment , with minimal supervision and a high degree of autonomy. Preferred Qualifications: Experience with custom game engines , including Unreal or Unity. Familiarity with JavaScript and .NET technologies . Knowledge of required utility materials and tools. A resume outlining relevant experience in game development, engineering, or a related field.
