Senior Manager, Governance, Risk, and Compliance (GRC)

About the role D-Wave is seeking a forward-thinking Senior Manager, Governance, Risk, and Compliance (GRC) to lead our global risk and compliance strategy at D-Wave. In this highly visible role, you’ll partner across business, legal, and technology functions to ensure the integrity of our security and compliance posture while enabling innovation in quantum computing. You’ll define the roadmap for how automation, analytics, and modern governance models simplify compliance and strengthen trust with customers, regulators, and partners. What you'll do • Build and lead the company’s global GRC strategy across multiple frameworks including NIST CSF 2.0, SOC 2, ISO 27001, FedRAMP, and SOX. • Modernize compliance through automation, continuous control monitoring, and data-driven reporting. • Lead enterprise risk management efforts and provide executive-level insights into exposure, mitigation, and maturity. • Oversee audits, certifications, and customer assurance programs. • Collaborate with cross functional leaders (IT, Legal, Marketing, Finance, HR, and R&D) teams to embed compliance requirements into day-to-day operations and product development. • Represent D-Wave in key customer and regulatory discussions, articulating our security and compliance capabilities with clarity and confidence. • Mentor and develop a high-performing team focused on operational excellence and continuous improvement. About You • Bachelor’s degree required; advanced degree or industry certifications (CISSP, CISM, CRISC, CISA) preferred. • 10+ years of experience in governance, risk, and compliance, and 5+ years in a leadership role. • Strong knowledge of modern frameworks and regulatory standards (NIST, SOC 2, ISO 27001, FedRAMP, SOX). • Experience using GRC and control automation tools to streamline compliance operations. • Excellent leadership, communication, and stakeholder-management skills. • Proven ability to balance compliance requirements with strategic business objectives.
