About the Role The Senior Renewable Energy Specialist will play a critical role in sourcing, negotiating, and closing renewable energy transactions globally, driving our ongoing renewable energy initiatives forward. You'll be responsible for conducting due diligence, structuring deals, and ensuring they meet Apple's high standards of financial and technical performance, as well as our environmental and social impact. This role requires deep collaboration with various Apple departments, including finance, tax, corporate procurement, legal, government affairs, marketing and communications, environmental technologies, supply chain clean energy program, and the environment, policy, and social initiatives team. Key Responsibilities Sourcing, negotiating, and closing renewable energy transactions globally, including power purchase agreements (PPAs), investments, utility transactions, renewable energy certificate (REC) and tax credit purchases, and other typical renewable energy contract structures. Conducting due diligence on potential transactions, assessing financial and technical risks, and ensuring compliance with Apple's high standards. Collaborating with cross-functional teams, including finance, tax, corporate procurement, legal, and government affairs, to drive transactions forward. Developing and maintaining working relationships with renewable energy developers and financiers across diverse geographies. Staying up-to-date on global renewable energy markets, fundamental economics, and policies, and applying this knowledge to inform Apple's renewable energy strategy. Managing multiple priorities in a fast-paced global setting, with excellent project management and time management skills. Communicating effectively with various stakeholders, both written and verbally, and collaborating seamlessly with colleagues in an unstructured environment. Essential Qualifications To be successful in this role, you'll need: A BA/BS degree in finance, economics, engineering, or other relevant field. 10+ years of global experience focused on renewable energy transactions, project development, and electricity markets. Strong experience sourcing, negotiating, and closing renewable energy transactions globally. Deep knowledge of renewable energy development, including solar, wind, and battery storage technologies, environmental permitting, interconnection, and risk mitigation. Experience with a wide range of contract structures, including power purchase agreements, tax equity and equity investments, renewable energy credit purchase agreements, utility green programs, and others. Preferred Qualifications To stand out as an ideal candidate, you'll have: International renewable energy and climate change experience in major Asian, European, and/or North American markets, with Africa and Latin America experience also a plus. A proven track record of creative, out-of-the-box thinking, grounded in real-life experience and pragmatic problem-solving. Excellent spoken and written communication skills, with the ability to collaborate seamlessly with various colleagues in an unstructured environment. Strong project management and time management skills, with the ability to complete multiple priorities in a fast-paced global setting. The base pay range for this role is between $152,800 and $230,300, and your base pay will depend on your skills, qualifications, experience, and location.
