We are seeking experienced and motivated Shop Mechanics to join our team in Douglassville, PA, and work on our 2nd and 3rd shifts. About the H&K Group, Inc. Our company was initially organized in 2004 to manage the complex internal logistical and hauling needs of our quarries, asphalt plants, and sand pits. Today, we service both internal and external customers, providing dependable deliveries and pick-ups. Job Summary As a Shop Mechanic with the H&K Group, Inc., you will be responsible for repairing and maintaining electric, diesel, and gasoline vocational trucks. You will work on a variety of vehicles, including heavy equipment and construction machinery. If you have a strong mechanical aptitude, excellent problem-solving skills, and a passion for working with your hands, this could be the perfect career opportunity for you. Key Responsibilities Read job orders and observe and listen to truck or equipment in operation to determine malfunction and plan work procedures Install new ignition systems, align front wheels, change or recharge batteries, and replace transmissions and other parts Replace gas or diesel engines Examine protective guards, loose bolts, and specified safety devices on trucks and equipment, and adjust as needed Lubricate and service vehicles Fabricate special lifting or towing attachments, hydraulic systems, shields, or other devices according to schematic drawings Perform collision repair, sanding, prep, and painting Complete all standard maintenance on trucks and equipment and ensure state inspection requirements are met for cars, trucks, and trailers Other duties as assigned Requirements and Qualifications Essential Qualifications: One-year certificate from an accredited college or technical school in diesel mechanics or a related field OR 2 years of related experience and/or training Equivalent combinations of education and experience may be considered Class A or B CDL or ability to obtain within one year Clean driving record Customer service and teamwork skills Mathematical skills Willing and able to work a 2nd or 3rd shift schedule Ability to fit test and utilize appropriate PPE as needed Ability to meet physical requirements (movement, lifting, as relevant to job) Preferred Qualifications: 4 years of related experience and/or training State Inspection license Experience working in heavy civil construction, road construction, or quarries OSHA, MSHA, or other relevant safety certifications What We Offer At the H&K Group, Inc., we value our employees and offer a range of benefits and opportunities for growth and development.
