Machinify is hiring for a Staff Automation Engineer to design, develop, and improve our automation tools and tests with a focus on backend automation testing and ability to pivot to UI testing as needed. The ideal background will have a focus on testing web applications, developing manual and automated tests, and an interest in joining a product focused team. You are driven and scrappy when delivering tests that assess the quality of complex systems. We're the Healthcare industry’s most comprehensive application suite. What You'll Do • Work with Product Manager, Design team, and Engineers to clearly understand testing requirements and procedures • Design, develop, and run manual & automated tests to validate functionality of our core applications • Drive quality testing initiatives, analyze functionality of application, and continuously identify areas of improvement within our test automation suite • Develop test cases, document quality issues, and create testing reports • Create and maintain test data across test environments • Collaborate effectively with a distributed and cross-functional team to resolve any open issues • Provide timely QA updates to project managers and team leads What You Bring • 6+ years of experience as an Automation Engineer with expertise in service layer testing and some UI automation experience • Proficiency programming with python and Javascript; other languages are a plus • Additional experience with frameworks preferably with Cypress or Playwright • Good knowledge and use of SQL • Experience with CI/CD pipelines using Jenkins, Github actions or similar tools. • Familiar with Docker and Git. • Detailed knowledge of application functions, bug fixing, and testing protocols • Excellent communication, critical thinking, and analytical skills • You are self driven, motivated, and feel a sense of ownership • Ability to adapt to and manage competing priorities • Comfortable with ambiguity and taking the initiative when required • BS degree in Computer Science or equivalent experience • Healthcare domain knowledge is a plus What We Offer: • Comprehensive health, dental, and vision insurance • 401(k) with company match • Flexible PTO policy • Remote-first work environment • Professional development budget • Equity compensation The salary for this position is based on an array of factors unique to each candidate: Such as years and depth of experience, set skills, certifications, etc. The base salary range dependent on leveling is between 150k-190k. We are hiring for different levels, and our Recruiting team will let you know if you qualify for a different role/range. Salary is one component of the total compensation package, which includes meaningful equity, excellent healthcare, flexible time off, and other benefits and perks to meet the needs of each individual.
