Job Summary As a Surgical Technology Instructor at Concorde Career Colleges, you will be responsible for providing active and effective learning experiences for students in all applicable educational settings. You will serve as a professional and academic role model, demonstrating expertise in surgical technology and a commitment to student satisfaction. Your primary responsibilities will include teaching in classrooms, labs, clinical and online settings, as well as participating in campus and student activities. Key Responsibilities Instruct classes as assigned, preparing lesson plans and course materials as required Objectively assess students for academic performance, providing regular and constructive feedback Effectively organize and present subject matter to students, utilizing instructional plans and learning management systems Maintain a classroom environment conducive to learning, setting an example for professionalism and conduct Proactively inform Program Directors of any student attendance, academic, or behavioral concerns Facilitate tutoring and makeup work as needed, ensuring and monitoring student participation Record keeping, scanning, and other administrative tasks as required Participate in ongoing faculty and professional development activities, including Continuing Education Units (CEUs) and certification requirements Essential Qualifications Credentialed in the field of surgical technology through a national certification program accredited by the National Commission on Certifying Agencies (NCCA) Minimum of four years of clinical experience in surgical technology, with at least 2 years in the operating room scrub role within the last 5 years Minimum of an associate degree in surgical technology Excellent communication and interpersonal skills Ability to work effectively in a fast-paced environment, prioritizing multiple tasks and responsibilities Preferred Qualifications Bachelor's degree in surgical technology or a related field Experience in teaching or education Familiarity with learning management systems and educational technology Skills and Competencies Strong knowledge of surgical technology principles and practices Excellent communication and interpersonal skills Ability to work effectively with students, faculty, and staff Strong organizational and time management skills Commitment to student satisfaction and success Career Growth Opportunities and Learning Benefits At Concorde Career Colleges, we are committed to supporting the growth and development of our faculty members.
