The Elementary Visual Arts Teacher will play a critical role in shaping the artistic and academic experiences of our students. This remote position requires a strong foundation in visual arts education, a passion for teaching, and a commitment to our mission. Key Responsibilities Professional Learning and Growth: Participate in yearly professional development, including faculty and grade-level meetings, job-embedded professional development, and cluster meetings. Student Engagement: Design and deliver engaging visual arts lessons that promote student participation, creativity, and academic achievement. Essential Content: Develop common core-aligned lesson plans and unit plans that advance students toward grade-level standards and expectations. Academic Ownership: Foster a classroom environment where students take ownership of their learning, provide meaningful feedback, and engage in critical thinking and problem-solving. Demonstration of Learning: Assess student progress through various methods, including observations, written work, and project-based evaluations. Teacher Accountability: Participate in TAP evaluations, observations, and feedback sessions to continuously improve teaching practices. Qualifications and Requirements To be considered for this role, you should possess: A Bachelor's Degree in Education or a related field. A valid Louisiana Teaching Certificate (preferred). Two years of teaching experience (preferred). A proven record of high student achievement and academic growth. A passion for teaching and a commitment to our mission and educational model. Openness to professional learning, feedback, and continuous improvement. Skills and Competencies To excel in this role, you will need: Strong knowledge of visual arts education and curriculum design.
