Welcome to Traumaform CIC Traumaform CIC is a not-for-profit organization dedicated to providing affordable, long-term therapy to individuals affected by Complex Trauma or PTSD and their co-occurring disorders. Our mission is to increase awareness of the effects of Complex Trauma and PTSD, offer education and training to professionals, and help individuals, families, and organizations work together to prevent its occurrence. Our mission statement is built around the following key objectives: Offering affordable, long-term therapy to those affected by Complex Trauma or PTSD and their co-occurring disorders Increasing people's awareness of the effects of Complex Trauma and PTSD and the contributing factors Providing education and training to professionals interested in working with trauma Helping individuals, families, and organizations work together to prevent the occurrence of trauma Offering supervision to Trauma Therapists Helping clients identify and increase post-traumatic growth Developing links with charitable organizations working with trauma survivors worldwide We are looking for individuals whose values align closely with ours, who are passionate about making a difference in the lives of those affected by trauma, and who are committed to helping us achieve our mission. What We Are Looking For We are seeking trustees with a range of skills and experiences to support our organization in its ongoing development. While lived experience of trauma or mental health challenges would be highly valuable, we are also keen to hear from individuals with specific expertise in areas such as: Accounting/financial experience Legal background Education background Business management experience and skills Knowledge and experience of community engagement Lived experience of trauma and/or mental health Awareness and understanding of trauma Some understanding of symptoms of PTSD and Complex PTSD and their co-occurring disorders Essential qualities for this role include: A desire to make a difference Passion for Traumaform's work Compassion for those suffering from the effects of trauma Commitment to attend board meetings either online or in-person Ability to work as part of a team A flexible, open approach An empathic and non-judgmental attitude Contributing to Traumaform's development through innovative and creative ideas What You Will Be Doing As a trustee with Traumaform CIC, you will play a vital role in shaping the future of our organization. Your responsibilities will include: Attending board meetings, which take place 5-6 times a year and can be held either in person or online Providing strategic input and guidance to help us achieve our mission Helping to develop and implement governance procedures Ensuring accountability and transparency in our operations Contributing to the development of long-term strategies for sustainability Engaging with the wider community to ensure our support reaches those in need You will have the opportunity to shape not only the future of Traumaform but also the composition and role of the board itself. There is the potential for you to take on more specific responsibilities, depending on your skills and interests.
