Key Responsibilities Design and deliver engaging lesson plans that align with the Texas Essential Knowledge and Skills (TEKS) for Agriculture, Food, and Natural Resources courses. Manage classroom and shop settings to ensure a safe and productive learning environment. Serve as an active FFA Advisor, guiding students in the development of leadership skills, career exploration, and community service. Prepare students to earn industry-based certifications by teaching relevant skills and competencies. Foster strong relationships with students, parents, colleagues, and community partners to promote student success. Utilize commercial and non-commercial power tools safely and effectively, demonstrating proper handling and usage techniques. Create interactive, hands-on projects that promote student engagement and motivation. Maintain accurate records and communicate student progress to parents and administrators. Participate in professional development opportunities to stay current with best practices in agricultural education. Qualifications & Requirements Essential Qualifications A bachelor's degree from an accredited institution. A valid Texas teaching certificate with the required endorsements for Agriculture, Food, and Natural Resources. A valid Texas driver's license and the ability to drive district vehicles and haul trailers. Excellent organizational, communication, and interpersonal skills. Proficiency in safety procedures and the proper use of power tools. Preferred Qualifications Experience in the agriculture industry. Involvement with the FFA organization as a participant, advisor, or volunteer. Knowledge of industry-based certifications and the skills required to achieve them. Experience working with high school students and developing engaging lesson plans.
