We're seeking a passionate and experienced Before and After School Instructor to join our team at Sunrise Elementary in Bothell, WA. As a Before and After School Instructor, you will play a vital role in guiding elementary-age participants through sports, arts, STEM, and other hands-on learning activities in a safe and caring environment. Job Summary We're looking for a highly motivated and experienced Before and After School Instructor to work at Sunrise Elementary in Bothell, WA. As a Before and After School Instructor, you will be responsible for implementing culturally relevant and developmentally appropriate activities within the curriculum, supervising a group of children, and providing guidance to staff and volunteers. You'll also be responsible for communicating with parents and guardians, following YMCA policies and procedures, and maintaining a clean and safe environment. Key Responsibilities: Implement culturally relevant and developmentally appropriate activities within the curriculum in accordance with the Youth Development goals of the YMCA. Supervise a group of children to ensure their health and safety and provide a positive experience for each child. Provide guidance to staff and volunteers overseeing the activities of groups of children. Professionally communicate day-to-day, confidential, and evaluative information with parents and guardians. Follow YMCA policies and procedures, including those related to medical and disciplinary situations, child abuse prevention, and emergency procedures. Assist in maintaining a developmentally appropriate site, including appearance, decor, and cleanliness. Prepare and serve snacks, and clean the snack area. Attend staff meetings and trainings as required. Requirements: Essential Qualifications: 18 years of age or older. 1-2 years of experience working with children in camps, childcare, tutoring, or nannying. Ability to model and demonstrate Y values: caring, respect, responsibility, and honesty. Experience planning and implementing group activities. TB Test by Mantoux method. Completion of minimum STARS required training, CPR/First Aid Training. Cleared Portable Background Check in the statewide registry MERIT. Preferred Qualifications: Knowledge of and previous experience with diverse populations (language, culture, race, physical ability, sexual orientation, etc.). Ability to speak any language in addition to English. High school diploma or the equivalent.
