We're now seeking an experienced and passionate Dennis Elementary Reading Intervention Teacher to join our team in a fully remote capacity. About the Role As a Dennis Elementary Reading Intervention Teacher, you'll play a critical role in providing daily reading instruction to assigned students, preparing engaging lesson plans, and supervising student participation in various activities. Key Responsibilities Provides daily reading intervention instruction to assigned students, utilizing board-adopted materials and research-based teaching strategies Prepares daily lesson plans that cater to the diverse needs of students and promote critical thinking skills Administers state and district-level assessments, Fountas and Pinnell Benchmark Assessments, and AIMSweb probes to inform instruction and measure student progress Collaborates with other reading intervention teachers, classroom teachers, principals, and district administrators to develop and implement effective literacy instruction Evaluates student progress through ongoing formative and summative assessments, using data to inform instruction and drive student growth Schedules and confers with parents periodically, providing written and verbal feedback on student progress Participates in professional development activities, including in-services, workshops, seminars, and conferences, to stay current on best practices in literacy instruction Serves on education-related committees, such as curriculum and course of study, to contribute to the development of effective literacy programs Demonstrates regular and predictable attendance, and performs required supplemental duties, such as taking attendance and reporting grades Essential Qualifications To be successful in this role, you'll need: A Bachelor's Degree or advanced degree in a relevant field A valid Ohio teaching certification/license with a Reading Endorsement (K-3; K-5; or 1-8 with reading endorsement if graduated prior to 2017) The ability to pass a criminal background check Preferred Qualifications While not required, the following qualifications are highly desirable: Experience working with students who require reading intervention Knowledge of research-based literacy instruction and assessment practices Excellent communication and collaboration skills Ability to work effectively in a remote environment Skills and Competencies To excel in this role, you'll need: Strong instructional skills, with the ability to adapt to diverse student needs Excellent assessment and data analysis skills, with the ability to inform instruction Effective communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to collaborate with colleagues and parents Strong organizational and time management skills, with the ability to prioritize tasks and meet deadlines A passion for literacy instruction and a commitment to student success Career Growth Opportunities and Learning Benefits At Montgomery County Educational Service Center, we're committed to supporting the professional growth and development of our staff.
