Key Responsibilities As an ELL Paraeducator for Secondary English Language Learner Support, you'll play a vital role in supporting the academic success and language development of our secondary students. Your key responsibilities will include: Working with secondary students who are English language learners, providing individualized support and guidance to help them access the curriculum and achieve academic success. Assisting teachers in developing and implementing lesson plans that meet the diverse needs of ELL students. Utilizing strong technology skills to access and use online instructional resources, access student data, and complete WA State required student online testing. Communicating effectively with students, teachers, and parents, using bilingual skills as needed to support ELL students and their families. Participating in professional development opportunities to enhance your skills and knowledge, staying up-to-date on best practices in ELL instruction and support. Maintaining accurate records and reports, providing data-driven insights to inform instruction and support. Qualifications and Requirements To be considered for this role, you'll need to meet the following minimum employment requirements: Be at least eighteen years of age and hold a high school diploma or its equivalent. Meet one of the following requirements: Have received a qualifying score on the Education Testing Service (ETS) paraeducator assessment. Hold an associate degree or higher from an accredited college or university. Have earned 72 quarter credits or 48 semester credits at the 100 level or higher at an accredited college or university. Have completed an apprenticeship as a paraeducator, in a program registered with the Washington State Apprenticeship and Training Council. Provide proof of meeting the above requirements by uploading a copy of an official transcript or ETS score. In addition to the minimum requirements, we're looking for candidates with: Strong technology skills, including proficiency in using online instructional resources and accessing student data. Bilingual skills, which are preferred but not required. Experience working with ELL students, particularly in a secondary education setting. Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to work effectively with students, teachers, and parents.
