About AdventHealth East Orlando AdventHealth East Orlando is a 305-bed community hospital that has been serving the local community since 1990. Our state-of-the-art facility is equipped with cutting-edge technology, and we have invested $122 million in facility improvements over the past decade. Our hospital features an expanded Emergency Room, a Center for Medical Simulation and Education, and a renovated Cancer Institute. We are currently renovating our 24-bed ICU to a 40-bed Critical Care Unit, which will enable us to provide innovative and safe care to our most critical patients. Job Summary We are seeking an experienced Registered Nurse to join our Oncology PCU training program. As a participant in our Critical Care Nurse Internship Program (CCNIP), you will have the opportunity to transition into a Progressive Care Unit (PCU) from another specialty. Our 6-8 week program includes comprehensive body systems modules, online educational activities, and clinical experience with a preceptor. Key Responsibilities Provide and supervise direct and indirect total nursing care responsibilities to identified age-specific groups. Utilize the nursing process (assessing, planning, implementing, and evaluating) to achieve the goals of the nursing department. Work under the direct supervision of a preceptor for all principal duties and responsibilities during the training program, with eventual transition to independent practice after successful training program completion. Adhere to the AdventHealth Corporate Compliance Plan and to rules and regulations of all applicable local, state, and federal agencies and accrediting bodies. Participate in outstanding customer service and maintain relationships that are equally respectful to all. Essential Qualifications Graduate of a school of nursing. Minimum of six (6) months of experience. Current valid State of Florida or multistate license as a Registered Nurse. Basic Life Support (BLS) Certification. EKG competency testing. Preferred Qualifications Bachelor's degree in Nursing. Minimum of 1 year of nursing experience. Professional Certification. Skills and Competencies Nursing Knowledge: Demonstrates the ability to assess and interpret diagnostic data relative to patient age and condition. Patient Safety: Nursing practice reflects the application of knowledge, skill, and adherence to all pertinent regulatory standards. Communication: Promotes an exceptional patient experience by abiding to compassion and image standards and fostering excellent nurse-patient relationships. Documentation: Demonstrates knowledge and skill in the recording and accessing of all patient information in electronic medical record according to policy and in real time.
