Position Overview We are looking for a skilled and engaging Part-Time Teacher to deliver online computer science, web design, and coding courses to students in grades 6-12. The successful candidate will be responsible for planning, preparing, and delivering instructional activities, as well as leading students in coding contests and competitions. Key Responsibilities: Instructional Delivery: Plan, prepare, and deliver high-quality instructional activities to students in grades 6-12, focusing on computer science, web design, and coding. Teaching and Training: Teach students various computer languages and coding concepts, including C++. Coding Contests and Competitions: Train and lead students to participate in computer coding contests and competitions. Critical Thinking and Troubleshooting: Foster critical thinking and troubleshooting skills in students. Classroom Management: Effectively manage the online classroom environment, implementing discipline, time management, and organization consistent with Workwarp's policies. Communication and Collaboration: Demonstrate excellent communication skills, both oral and written, and collaborate with colleagues, students, and parents as needed. Competency and Knowledge: Maintain up-to-date knowledge of computer science, web design, and coding concepts, as well as rules and general information about competitions for grades 6-12 students. Leadership and Supervision: Provide direction and supervision to volunteer youth helpers and Computer Science club leaders. Essential Qualifications: Education and Experience: Qualification and experience in grades 6-12 education. Computer Science and Coding: Knowledge and experience in computer science, web design, and coding. Coding Languages: Experience with at least one coding language: Java, C++, HTML, Python, or Scratch. Facilitation and Communication: Excellent facilitation and communication skills, with the ability to motivate, direct, and train people. Commitment to Excellence: Commitment to excellence and ability to work both independently and in a collaborative environment. Organizational Skills: Demonstrated experience in organizing, conceptualizing, and prioritizing objectives. Preferred Qualifications: Teaching Certification: Teaching certification or experience in teaching computer science, web design, and coding. Online Teaching Experience: Experience in online teaching or tutoring. Leadership Experience: Leadership experience in educational settings or extracurricular activities.
