About the Role As a Senior Manager UX Writing at Wayfair, you will be responsible for leading a team of UX writers and collaborating with cross-functional teams, including UX Research, Systems, Accessibility, and Platforms, to develop comprehensive digital strategies. Your primary goal will be to create a consistent shopping experience through lucid UX writing across all retail platforms, ensuring that our customers can easily find what they need and navigate our site with ease. Key Responsibilities Model a consistent shopping experience through clear UX writing across all retail platforms Participate in the development of Wayfair's new CMS, Block Builder, ensuring a consistent and intuitive customer experience Work with cross-functional teams to create comprehensive digital strategies Develop content models for designers and establish a content network for consistent information across all platforms Supervise and direct a team of UX writers, ensuring alignment with organizational strategy and prioritization by business objectives Participate in cycle-to-cycle projects, maintaining alignment with the company's tech and business targets Act as a mentor, guiding junior colleagues through projects, helping shape the scope of the work, setting expectations, and ensuring delivery Participate in occasional travel (<10%) for summits and team events to connect with the broader team and stakeholders Requirements and Qualifications To be successful in this role, you will need to have a strong background in UX writing, copywriting, technical writing, or a related field, with at least 4+ years of experience and 2-3 years of experience in managing people. You should thrive in the face of significant, ambiguous challenges, be able to craft meaningful solutions, and ensure their successful execution. Essential Qualifications 4+ years of experience in UX writing, copywriting, technical writing, or a related field 2-3 years of experience in managing people Proficiency in industry-standard tools, including content management systems and collaborative platforms like JIRA Bachelor's degree in English, Journalism, Library Science, Communications, Marketing, or a related field (or equivalent professional experience) Deep understanding of experience design fundamentals, including journey maps, content audits, user flows, competitive analyses, and content taxonomies Ability to value the collaborative connection between design and content, focusing on creating a cohesive customer experience Preferred Qualifications Experience working in a fast-paced, dynamic environment Strong analytical and problem-solving skills Excellent communication and interpersonal skills Ability to work effectively in a remote team environment Familiarity with Agile development methodologies Skills and Competencies To excel in this role, you will need to possess a range of skills and competencies, including: Technical Skills Proficiency in content management systems and collaborative platforms like JIRA Experience with design tools like Sketch, Figma, or Adobe Creative Cloud Familiarity with HTML, CSS, and JavaScript Soft Skills Excellent communication and interpersonal skills Strong analytical and problem-solving skills Ability to work effectively in a remote team environment Strong leadership and management skills Career Growth Opportunities and Learning Benefits At Wayfair, we are committed to helping our employees grow and develop in their careers.
