Experienced Statewide 988 Chat/Text Specialist for Crisis Intervention and Suicide Prevention – Full-Time Remote Opportunity in Middle Tennessee

Job Overview We are seeking a compassionate and skilled Statewide 988 Chat/Text Specialist to join our 24/7/365 high-volume, suicide prevention-focused team. As a vital member of this team, you will provide brief clinical screenings, risk assessments, and appropriate service linkage for individuals experiencing emotional distress. This is a fully remote position, requiring you to live in the Middle Tennessee area, with a schedule of Monday-Friday, 4:30 pm-1 am, and Saturdays and Sundays off. Key Responsibilities Demonstrate a high level of clinical knowledge and skill in providing telephonic or chat clinical screenings and risk assessments. Answer crisis contacts via Zoom contact center or the chat/text platform to assess for suicide, safety, and identify appropriate community resources to best meet individual needs. Conduct follow-up calls for individuals deemed moderate to high risk for suicide. Meet the ethical and clinical standards in compliance with all accreditation. Actively participate in ongoing supervision, training, and team meetings. Demonstrate high-level customer service skills and professional etiquette. Promote a departmental culture of cooperation and collaboration with other cross-functional departments, community agencies, hospitals,wins, mental health consumers, and the public at large. Assist in administrative tasks as needed. Essential Qualifications To be successful in this role, you will need: A Bachelor's degree in behavioral science, Psychology, Social Work, or a related field, or be a Certified Peer Recovery Specialist. Six months to one year of crisis experience is preferred. Excellent computer skills and the ability to communicate effectively through written communication/instant messaging. The ability to multi-task in a high-stress environment. Knowledge of suicide assessments and skill in providing crisis intervention. Preferred Qualifications While not required, the following qualifications are highly desirable: Experience working in a trauma-informed organization or environment. Knowledge of community resources and services. Experience with crisis intervention and suicide prevention. Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.
