About the Role: Substitute Teacher We're seeking a passionate and experienced Substitute Teacher to join our team in Millstone, NJ. As a Substitute Teacher with Scoot Education, you'll have the flexibility to choose your assignments and work on your own schedule. Key Responsibilities: Provide high-quality instruction and support to students in the absence of their regular teacher Develop and implement lesson plans, ensuring continuity of learning Manage classroom behavior and create a positive learning environment Communicate effectively with school staff, administrators, and parents Participate in 1:1 check-ins with your Scoot consultant to discuss school feedback and develop your skills Engage in ongoing training and professional development to enhance your teaching practices Essential Qualifications: Associate or Bachelor's degree, or 60+ college credits Three professional references, including one from a previous direct supervisor NJ Substitute Credential Background check and TB risk assessment (we'll cover the cost of this) Full COVID-19 vaccination A passion for education and putting students first An empathetic nature, a growth mindset, and a drive to be the best you can be Preferred Qualifications: Previous experience as a substitute teacher or in a related educational role Special education or paraprofessional experience Subject-specific expertise (e.g., Math, Science, English, etc.) Experience working with diverse student populations Skills and Competencies: Excellent communication and interpersonal skills Ability to adapt to new situations and challenges Strong organizational and time management skills Flexibility and willingness to work varied schedules Proficiency in technology, including educational software and platforms Career Growth Opportunities and Learning Benefits: At Scoot Education, we're committed to helping our substitutes grow and develop as professionals.
