This will involve: Providing exceptional customer service and expert instruction to students Building students' confidence and self-esteem through successful encounters and interactions with carefully selected materials Working as part of a team and operating in a team teaching environment Collaborating with colleagues to ensure all student needs are addressed Key Responsibilities: Use the Mathnasium Method and teaching constructs to deliver instruction Maintain good availability to work at Mathnasium and provide accurate and timely information regarding your schedule Continuously strive to become a great instructor and demonstrate retention of information learned during training and staff meetings Be available to attend staff meetings approximately once every 4-6 weeks Teach students in a way that makes sense to them, not necessarily to you Be encouraging and use praise and constructive feedback appropriately Provide necessary support to support administrative aspects of the center and help maintain center cleanliness and order Essential Qualifications: Passion for math and working with students Ability to demonstrate math proficiency at least through Algebra 1 Excellent interpersonal skills and ability to inspire students to do well Eagerness to learn and be trained (15-20 hours of training within one month of hire) Ability to balance various ongoing tasks and multitask Professional demeanor and effective communication skills Preferred Qualifications: Demonstrable ability to do higher level math (Geometry, Algebra II, Trigonometry, Pre-calculus) Previous experience working with students or teaching math Skills and Competencies: Strong math skills and knowledge of the Mathnasium Method Excellent communication and interpersonal skills Ability to work effectively with students, parents, and colleagues Flexibility and adaptability in a fast-paced environment Strong organizational and time management skills Career Growth Opportunities and Learning Benefits: At Mathnasium of Laurel, we're committed to helping our employees grow and develop their skills.
