Oncology Data Specialist, Per Diem (Remote AZ, ID, MO, TX, TN)

Job Description Responsible for all cancer-related data collection systems, for reportable cases. Ensures that all State of California and American College of Surgeons (ACoS) guidelines are met. Coordinates Cancer Conferences. (Policy #87020.300). Required Skills • Demonstrates complete technical knowledge of all areas of the Cancer Registry, i.e., State of California reporting requirements, ACoS requirements, SEER staging, TNM staging, Patient Care Evaluation (PCE), data collection and patient follow-up. • Must have a thorough knowledge of anatomy, physiology, and medical terminology • Familiarity with and knowledge of computers, i.e., CNExT, spreadsheet and word processing programs. • A knowledge of general principles of statistical computation is mandatory. Required Experience Required: • Must be a Oncology Data Specialist (ODS)/Certified Tumor Registrar (CTR) with minimum of 2 years experience. Preferred: • Preferred completion of an approved Cancer Registry training program. • A minimum of two (2) years of experience in a hospital-based American College of Surgeons (ACoS) approved cancer program is preferred • Proven track record with a successful ACoS approved program is preferred.
