Key Responsibilities Provide individualized support to students, helping them develop their writing skills and address writing-related challenges. Collaborate with students from diverse academic backgrounds, offering guidance on writing concepts, organization, development, and structure. Participate in comprehensive training, including English 3840/5840, to enhance your knowledge and tutoring skills. Engage in conference participation, committee work, editing, group leadership, and publication experiences to expand your professional growth. Foster a supportive and inclusive learning environment, promoting students' confidence and writing abilities. Essential Qualifications Currently enrolled as a student at Weber State University in good academic standing. Demonstrated writing proficiency through coursework and a submitted academic writing sample. Effective interpersonal communication skills, with the ability to explain complex writing concepts. Interest in developing your tutoring skills and contributing to the success of students. Preferred Qualifications A passion for supporting the academic success of peers and contributing to the Writing Center's mission. Seeking leadership opportunities and willing to go beyond the basic tutoring requirements. Desire to develop and refine interpersonal, technical, leadership, and teaching skills in a supportive environment. Ability to work collaboratively with students, faculty, and staff to achieve common goals.
