Job Overview In this advanced role, you will be responsible for designing, developing, and implementing network architectures and solutions that ensure our hardware infrastructure is robust, efficient, and pioneering in its advancements. Your expertise in network engineering, automation, and cloud technologies will be invaluable in driving our success. As a Staff Software Engineer - Networking, you will work closely with cross-functional teams to identify and address network infrastructure needs, develop and implement network automation solutions, and ensure the security and integrity of our network systems. Key Responsibilities Design, develop, and implement network architectures and solutions for open-source network systems, cloud, and legacy vendor systems Develop and implement network automation solutions using software-defined networking (SDN) technologies and network operating systems such as open-source SONiC Collaborate with cross-functional teams to identify and address network infrastructure needs and develop solutions to improve network efficiency and security Ensure the security and integrity of network systems by implementing robust security measures and monitoring network activity Develop and maintain documentation of network architectures, designs, and implementations Participate in the development of network automation scripts and tools using programming languages such as Python, Java, and C/C# Collaborate with external partners and vendors to stay up-to-date with the latest network technologies and trends Essential Qualifications To be successful in this role, you will need to possess a strong understanding of network design, architecture, and ecosystem of server technologies, as well as experience with software-defined networking (SDN) technologies and network operating systems. You should also have excellent interpersonal and collaborative skills, with the ability to work effectively with various teams within the organization and build strong relationships with stakeholders and external partners. Technical Requirements Strong understanding of security technologies, solutions, and deep network system design knowledge and experience Familiarity with software-defined network architectures and solutions, including network operating systems such as open-source SONiC Experience with virtualization technologies and their interaction with underlying storage infrastructures Proven ability to concentrate and demonstrate a capacity for learning technical concepts and adapting to new technologies quickly Strong understanding of software-defined network infrastructure for hybrid cloud, including public and private cloud environments Experience with SDN controllers such as ONOS SD-Fabric Experience in Linux operating systems and programming languages such as C/C#, Java, Python, GoLang Preferred Qualifications In addition to the essential qualifications, we are looking for candidates with the following preferred qualifications: Desired Experience 8+ years of network operations and automation experience 6+ years of experience with systems architecture and design 5+ years of experience in open-source network solutions 5+ years of experience working with hyper-scale cloud provider solutions 5+ years of development in a large-scale, mission-critical environment 5+ years' experience with automated testing, including unit, integration, and end-to-end functional testing Education and Training A Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Information Systems, or equivalent education or work experience is required for this role.
