As an Owl Scholars Instructor, you will play a critical role in shaping the academic and career trajectories of our students, particularly those in the Owl Scholars program, which supports the retention of grade-level skills and stimulates career interests. Job Summary We are seeking an experienced and passionate Owl Scholars Instructor to teach and mentor students in academic excellence and career development. As an Owl Scholars Instructor, you will be responsible for coordinating, planning, preparing, presenting, and evaluating classroom instruction and related activities. You will work with students of varying ages and skill levels, from elementary school to high school, and across various subjects, including math, science, language arts, and more. Key Responsibilities Plan, organize, and teach curriculum content in conjunction with course outcomes, using applicable technology and pedagogical principles. Teach course content via various delivery formats, including face-to-face, hybrid, online, and remote instruction. Complete mandated institutional trainings and professional development trainings related to content discipline and pedagogy. Facilitate instructional activities that promote student engagement and learning. Evaluate student performance using assessment tools that align with established course objectives and outcomes. Create and administer assessments that monitor student progress and provide timely student feedback. Provide an orientation at the first-class meeting, including an overview of the course syllabus, objectives, requirements, attendance policy, grading system, and textbook information. Notify students of key academic dates and course adjustments, maintain an up-to-date electronic grade book, and enter final grades by the established due date. Maintain accurate records and submit class records to the Department Chair or Program Coordinator by the established due date. Participate in the departmental evaluation and course assessment process. Maintain office hours, advise students, and refer students to appropriate resources. Requirements and Qualifications Essential Qualifications: Bachelor's degree preferred. Previous experience delivering academic or personal development curricula. One year full-time or equivalent part-time experience in providing direct services (instruction or tutoring) in an educational or human service environment. Preferred Qualifications: Master's degree or higher from an accredited college/university. Teaching experience at the elementary, middle school, or high school level. Experience with curriculum design and development. Skills and Competencies Excellent communication and interpersonal skills. Ability to work with students of varying ages and skill levels. Strong organizational and time management skills. Ability to use technology and pedagogical principles to enhance instruction. Commitment to student success and academic excellence.
