The Opportunity For the 2023-2024 School Year, we are looking for a Registered Nurse/Licensed School Nurse (RN/LSN) who is knowledgeable about and can implement the Whole School, Whole Community, Whole Child (WSCC) approach. This role may involve working across multiple campuses based on our annual staffing plan, and you will report to the Director of Nursing and Health Services. Key Responsibilities Contribute to the Student Support Team (SST), 504 Plan, Evaluation Team Report (ETR), Multi-factored Evaluation (MFE), and Individual Education Plan (IEP) processes. Act as a liaison between health services and academic success, ensuring that health plans are aligned with educational goals. Teach educational health standards and participate in school wellness and emergency preparedness initiatives. Assess and manage students' physical and mental health to support their educational process and enhance academic success. Develop, implement, evaluate, and modify plans of care based on student assessments. Direct nursing tasks to Licensed Practical Nurses (LPNs) and collaborate with families and healthcare teams. Bill Medicaid for eligible services and participate in building wellness teams. Conduct advanced physical and mental health assessments and develop individual health and emergency action plans. Coordinate school health programs and support campus-level LPNs in integrated health program coordination. Qualifications and Skills Required Qualifications: Bachelor's Degree in Nursing or a related field. Obtain an Ohio Provisional School Nurse Certificate through an approved program. Within 2 years, obtain a Licensed School Nurse Certificate. Effective communication skills and the ability to work as part of a multidisciplinary team. Preferred Qualifications: At least 5 years of successful nursing experience. Experience as a public health or school nurse in an urban setting.
